Rose Quartz, Ruby Zoisite, and Lava Stone.
I had the sheer pleasure of introducing these 3 stones to a wonderful gentleman at my booth during one of the many craft shows I’ve attended over the last 4 years. He was looking for a bracelet for his wife, as well as one for him as he was just beginning his journey with crystals and healing energy. It was wonderful discussing with him which stones/bracelets would best suit him and his wife at this time. And since we were at a local Comic-Con, (interesting venue for me, I’m sure) we even discussed the metaphysical properties of Darth Vader — a study of the struggle between light and dark, good and evil. And Redemption… as he sacrificed his own life to save the life of his son, Luke. So, without any further delay, here are these 3 stones, for Love, Acceptance, and repelling negative energy we spoke most about that day.
Rose Quartz
Rose Quartz is the ultimate stone of Love. Love for oneself, one’s life partner, children, family, friends, community, the Earth, the Universe, and the Divine. Meditating with one of these stones provides an envelope of love energy around oneself and activates the heart chakra for the emanation of one’s innate love. When you are truly experiencing love, you are not thinking about giving and receiving, because the lover and the beloved have become one. Rose Quartz helps dissolve the boundaries of isolation and is trust and moves you into the sense of union with the essence of the core of the Heart.
It is a heart healer – heals wounds and reawakens trust is the gift of Rose Quartz. It’s soothing vibrations are a balm to the emotions, and they calm and cleanse the entire auric field. (The Energy Field around one’s physical being). It encourages the release of tension and stress, dissolves anger and resentment, dispels fear and suspicion, and give a rebirth of hope and faith in the benevolence of the Universe.
Rose Quartz is clearly feminine in tone, and it is one of the stones of the Great Mother. It not only activates the human heart chakra, it also links your personal heart to the heart of the Earth and the Heart of the Universe. It’s love vibrations can penetrate down to the cellular level, reprogramming the cells for joy and longevity rather than despair and death. This reprogramming capacity is the source of the healing potential of Rose Quartz.
It is a talisman of love, spreading compassion and gentle understanding throughout the world. When you gift a lover, a friend, a stranger or a child with a Rose Quartz, there is an unspoken appreciation that reverberates through the Universe, as one more boundary is softened and dissolved.
Zoisite (with Ruby) / Ruby Zoisite
Embrace Your True self with Ruby Zoisite. Zoisite with Ruby is one of those truly fortunate natural mineral combinations. Green Zoisite emanates an energy of growth and fertility in all aspects of life. It provides the energy for the rebirth of oneself into the soul, fostering inner development and increased understanding of oneself and the world. It is an excellent stone for someone who has been recently “awakened” to their spirituality, because it strengthens the neural and energetic connections between the brain and the heart. This allows for the mind to “hear” the heart’s urging, and to understand them sufficiently to act on the heart’s urging.
Ruby is a stone of life force, courage and passion. It stimulates the root chakra, providing an infusion of vitality to which can make you feel rejuvenated and enthusiastic for life. It reminds you that living with zest and intensity is more satisfying than “playing it safe”. Ruby nourishes the body and your physical energies, which without these, your emotional and spiritual life can come to a standstill.
When Ruby and Zoisite are combined in a single stone (Ruby Zoisite), the root, heart, and third-eye chakras are strongly stimulated. This allows for the manifestation of your inner and outer development. It energizes the body and creates a sense of well-being. It allows you to accept and embrace who you are, your true self. It increases the intensity of the heart’s yearning and facilitates the dramatic opening of the heart chakra which has the ability to change one’s whole perspective and experience with the world. It also brings out increased intuitive abilities. All of these feelings blend into the feeling that fullness of your true self has arrived.
Ruby Zoisite can help with suppressed grief, allowing it to be expressed, gently and lovingly. It increases the potency of your energy field, strengthening the spiritual and auric fields within and outside the body. It cleanses the spiritual body of negative attachments, and allows you to involve yourself with others in friendship and service.
Lava Stone
The Protection Stone – allowing us to change and to accept change. This is one of the oldest stones of the Earth, as the lava from volcanoes have helped form our mountains, hills, and landscapes. Lava has shaped and changed the face of Mother Earth for billions of years. It is a grounding stone that activates the Root Chakra, connecting us to Mother Earth. It gives us strength and courage, allowing us the stability though times of change. It also provides guidance and understanding in situations where we may need to recover quickly, and also allows us to see things in a deeper, more meaningful way. It allows us to see the ‘bigger picture’, as Lava has been here since the beginning of time, it’s energy has seen changes and upheavals which allows us to understand more deeply what others may be experiencing. Lava is also a protection stone, deflecting negative energies that may be directed towards the wearer, thus encompassing he/she in a protective energy. It allows us to change, and to accept change.
Due to the porous nature of the Lava stone, its energy can be boosted with an essential oil to calm or energize the wearer. I love combining lavender and jasmine in mine. When my body is feeling it needs a bit of an immune boost, I infuse the lava stone with Eucalyptus and Peppermint – this, I wear on a choker, close to the throat, activating my throat chakra. Most of the time, I wear the lava stone with the oil infusions on my wrist as a bracelet.
Other Notes:
• To activate the metaphysical properties of these stone bracelets for yourself, it is best to wear them on the left wrist, as it it closer to the heart and more in tune the body’s circulation patterns. Wearing them on the Left Wrist brings those intended energies to you. The Right Wrist is projecting that energy out to others.
• Be sure to recharge your bracelets every so often by either gently washing them in clean water, or having them sit at a window under the full moon. You can also cleanse them with incense – I usually have them sitting near the incense burner so that the incense can ‘roll’ over the stones.
• Care of your stretch bracelets – avoid chemicals (chlorine, cleaning agents, etc) when wearing them (don’t go swimming in chlorinated or salted water with them on), and avoid wearing them in the shower. This may affect the colour of the stones or deteriorate the elastic cord. Excessive sweat can also have this effect on your stones and elastic. Take them off when sleeping. When putting them on or taking them off, “roll” them gently on/off the wrist – do not pull. If you need to clean them, wash them gently with a mild soap and water, and pat dry.
